Ultra Violet Creations

One of the fabulous things about having an active online presence is the chance to meet fabulous people and discover fabulous things.

At the most recent Rock and Roll Markets, I caught up with a friend I'd met through Twitter and managed to acquire my latest favourite addition to my wardrobe.

Meet my new Highly Waisted skirt from Ultra Violet Creations.

Ultra Violet mostly do costuming for dancers and fitness, but they also have some lovely vintage inspired pieces and I fell in love with this skirt. The fabric is stretch velour and the fit is fantastic. Even though I love the vintage and pin up girl fashion, I'm usually a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl so I just can't put up with being uncomfortable even when I'm dressed up. No problems with this skirt though, I wore it all day at work and into the night for dinner at The Soda Factory.

Artist Appreciation - Eddie Colla

A short one this week.

It's been a hard couple of weeks. Instead of focusing on that though I'm going to throw some sunlight into the mix. I recently discovered this fantastic street artist called Eddie Colla. I randomly came across one of his pictures in a gallery to do with riot girl artists. It didn't get attributed to him and it took me a while to track it down but it was one of those perfect art moments where something just hits you and connects with you in a way that's so pure.

The piece I love is this one:

You can check out his other work here:

I will also soon be the proud owner of a singlet with the work on it and if you'd like to join me you can do so by going here:
