Mission Statement

Part of what I wanted to do with this blog is to share all the nitty gritty, trials and tribulations on the road to creating a living making music. While it's easy to get a look behind the scenes of the superstar rock'n'roll lifestyle through various artists social media (see Rhianna's Instagram if you're not sure what I'm talking about) the parts that tend to be left out are all the normal, tough, working your butt off stuff that comes before anything else ever does.

So that's what I wanted to share. It's all well and good to sell this untouchable perfection but let's face it, we're all just little fleshy specs of existence in the grand scheme of things and I think we'd all be a lot better off if we stopped trying to separate and elevate ourselves from each other, it lacks compassion and solidarity.

So having said that I will be updating more frequently with everything from seemingly trivial life stuff like clothes, food or books I'm reading, to philosophical rants and how to pick a microphone, get a gig or write a song.

I have one addendum however, I feel like doing this would be a waste of time if I wasn't completely honest, so no matter whether I'm talking about something personal or sharing a favourite product/service I will be honest.

Also, it seems to me that far too often blogs seem to take themselves terribly seriously (in an effort to be taken seriously, I assume) so, should selfies be required they will undoubtedly be badly lit and I will be smiling, (no serious faces, see above).

That's it, no third thing. Honest and fun. That's my aim.
